When Justin and Sarah Gardner and their three young children moved into their Bryant Homes house - 18 months ago - now, instead of a dream home, it has become a nightmare.
Since living in their newly built property in Oxfordshire they've encountered around 176 problems and defects.
From holes in the front door, a fire escape window screwed shut (this window also really badly fitted), roof tiles falling off, no cavity wall insulation, kitchen cupboards falling off wall, taps that wobble when touched, skirting boards so loose that one-year-old Emilia has already fallen on one and split her top lip...!
They are concerned that they do not having a building certificate and so can't insure their £350,000 home, they are nowsuing Bryant Homes.
Bryant Homes Statement:
"An independent survey is currently being undertaken into the claims made by Mr and Mrs Gardner. The results of this survey are required before any further negotiations can take place.
"As Mr and Mrs Gardner have started legal proceedings against Bryant Homes, it would not be appropriate for the company to discuss matters further."
Consumer champion Lynn Faulds Wood's checklist:
1. Check your neighbours' homes.
2. Take photos and compile a dossier
3. Know your rights!
