Cancer cure?

Last updated: 17 Mar 2006

Find out about the new so-called miracle cancer cure

Opinion is heavily divided over Carctol, the new Indian herbal remedy that claims to help the body rid itself of cancer.

Spirit of science
Respected cancer doctor Dr Rosy Daniel strongly believes in the benefits of Carctol.

Dr Daniel claims to have seen tumours literally disappear from cancer sufferers taking the medicinal herb: "British doctors are cautious people but I've decided to stick my neck out because I've seen walking miracles. I want to relay this information in the spirit of science."

Phenomenon?
Carctol is a mixture of eight natural herbs and has its basis in traditional Hindu medicine. It is taken alongside a specific nutritional regime, including a non-acidic diet, a digestive enzyme and large quantities of water.

Carctol costs about £90 a month for the highest dose, with another £10 for the digestive enzyme.

Warning
Many professionals, including GMTV's own Dr Hilary Jones, are warning against false hope with this so-called "wonder drug".

They feel that until it is tested in robust, well-run clinical trials people should be wary about taking it. Also many of the websites making claims about the herbs benefits tend to be grossly misleading.

As with all treatments, always seek expert advice from your GP before going ahead.
