Surinder Hundle - a pioneer in designer dentistry
In 1998, Dr Surinder Hundle pioneered the concept of designer dental care - breaking all previous conceptions of dentistry, whilst promoting prevention, health, aesthetics and total wellbeing.
Dr Hundle is the founder of thel Lund Osler Dental Health Care surgery in Knightsbridge which was the first to modernise dentistry and promote dental aesthetics.
Today, the practice has gained the reputation as the 'Saville Row' of dentistry where A-list celebrities, personalities from the world of film and music and affluent professionals meet under one roof.
The clinic won Dental Practice of the Year in 2001 and has received numerous awards for its interior design concept.
Latest technology
Dr Hundle ensures his practice is up-to-date with the latest technology. He and his team regularly visit the US to learn about the latest techniques and equipment.
Anaesthetics are delivered by a computer-controlled system that minimises discomfort and, instead of drills the surgeons use painless air abrasion tools.
Lund Osler's Knightsbridge clinic was the first to go digital and interactive. Patients are X-rayed with digital imaging and there's 95% less radiation. Also, a camera is placed in the mouth during surgery so, if they want to, the patient can see what's going on.
Additionally, the practice screens for oral cancer, has a sterile water system, offers chair-side beauty treatments and texts patients to remind them about appointments; clients can even watch DVDs during treatment.
