It's the latest lunch-hour quick fix; an injectable breast enlargement

If the traditional form of breast enlargement surgery doesn't appeal to you, maybe the latest lunch-hour boob job procedure will...

Trialled in Japan, the treatment is now available in the UK and claims to re-shape your breasts in a 30 minute quick-fix, meaning you can pop along to an appointment in your lunch hour.

The new injectable boob job consists of having dermal fillers inserted in to the breast area. These fillers are the gel-like compounds used for plumping out lips and smoothing lines and wrinkles in the face, but scientists have developed a new type of filler for the breasts - and as with the other dermal fillers available, it doesn't require surgery or a long recovery period.

The treatment is an out-patient procedure. After administering a local anaesthetic, the doctor injects the substance in to the breast, and the entire procedure is over in less than two hours.

Post-injection

Because the treatment is non-surgical, there are none of the risks of full anaesthesia, nor of the complications that could arise from surgery. Recovery time is almost zero.

Sceptics

Although the treatment already has it's fans, there are those that criticise certain aspects of the procedure.

Some cosmetic surgery experts are  wary of the injectable boob job, citing it as the latest quick-fix fad. The treatment won't be widely available in the UK until Autumn 2008, and until then some surgeons remain cautious of the procdeure's licensing ; although it has been CE-approved as a form of 'body re-shaping,' it has yet to be licensed for 'breast enlargement.' This may happen later in the year.

It's claimed to be a revolutionary procedure offering breast re-shaping in 30 minutes - but is it too good to be true?

Always consult your GP before you make any decision about having cosmetic surgery.
