  • The greatest love song, according to Andy, remains to be "Moon River", which was a hit for him in 1962.

  • Huge fan of Sting and has hinted that he may sing 'Every Breath You Take' whilst on his British tour.
  • In April this year, Andy opened the 'Moon River Grill' next to Moon River Theatre. Costing $1.5million, Andy wanted to create a venue with great food 'where people can enjoy dinner before the show and have a nightcap or dessert after the show.'  The menu features some of Williams' mother's recipes, including old-fashioned rhubarb shortcake and chicken potpie.
  • Williams first performed in a children's choir at the local Presbyterian church.
  • Andy and his three older brothers Bob, Dick, and Don, formed a quartet, the Williams Brothers, in the late 1930s, and they performed on various radio stations in the Midwest of the US
  • Williams's solo career began in 1952 after his brothers left the act.
  • Had his first number 1 in 1957 with 'Butterfly' on which he imitated Elvis Presley.
  • During the 1960s, Williams became one of the most popular vocalists in the country and was signed to what was at that time the biggest recording contract in history with Columbia.
  • His 1967 recording of "Music to Watch Girls By" was a surprise UK hit in 1999, when it reached number 9 after featuring in an advert.
  • In 2002 he took part in a new duet of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" with British actress and singer Denise van Outen.
