Win an iPod touch with FSA Salt

Are you having too much salt? You might not think so. But every day 26 million adults in the UK eat too much salt. You could be eating too much without realising because about 75% of the salt we eat is already in the food we buy. If you want to cut down, the good news is there are plenty of simple things you can do.

For example, the Salt Calculator, which has been developed by the Food Standards Agency, calculates your shopping's salt content, so helping you to keep track of your daily salt intake – it is accessible by web-enabled mobiles at www.food.gov.uk/saltapp. Also, 'FSA salt', a free application for the iPhone or iPod Touch, has the same features as the Salt Calculator as well as tips on how to reduce salt in your cooking.

With the 'FSA Salt' app you simply look at the label, select the appropriate level of salt and the traffic light system instantly reveals if it's a healthy, low salt option or something to be enjoyed every once in a while.

To celebrate the launch of 'FSA salt', we are giving away an 8GB iPod Touch which can store up to 1,750 songs or 100 hours of video and, of course, the 'FSA salt' app!
