Watch Twilight star Robert Pattinson talk about the next instalment Eclipse and about his relationship with fans
Robert Pattinson has given hope to thousands of fans around the world by admitting he would have no problem dating one of his admirers.
Speaking exclusively to GMTV, the heart-throb said "I always want to go out with fans, they are the best type of girl. They have got good taste."
The 24-year-old Brit is rumoured to be dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, though the pair have never confirmed a relationship.
And as well as admitting he could see himself with a fan, Robert revealed he took one devotee to dinner after she relentlessly pursued him.
"She was more of a stalker than a fan. For a while I was freaked out by her but then I was in Spain shooting this movie and I didn't know anyone there and she could speak quite good English and she was waiting outside my apartment every day. Eventually I said 'Do you want to do something cos I'm sick of seeing you staring into my window all day?'"
Rob was talking while promoting the latest instalment of the Twilight franchise, Eclipse, which opens at cinemas across the UK this Friday.
The instalment is set to be the biggest yet of the multi-million pound franchise and has already topped the US box office, taking in around £106 million in the US and Canada since its release last Wednesday.
Speaking about the new movie, Robert says "It seemed a lot more relaxed, the character and physicality. Everything about Edward just seemed different."
And he also admitted he had picked up a tip from his character in the movie, Edward Cullen, in terms of appealing to the opposite sex "Stay quiet most of the time. It kind of works if you want to be attractive."
