Often a change in diet, different drinking water and overindulgence can lead to an upset stomach whilst on holiday
Now, Most of us avoid drinking water from the tap,
But how many of us remember that tap water is also used for making ice cubes and washing salad and fruit?
So be extra careful about what you eat and drink.
If you are unfortunate enough to get diarrhoea you should rest, eat nothing for twenty four hours, and drink small sips of water regularly to help replace body fluids.
Rehydration salts are great to speed up your recovery –
And if you need to ease your diarrhoea look for tablets with the active ingredient Loperamide.
Whatever the cause it should help settle your stomach so whether your irritable bowel has flared up or you're suffering food poisoning - it should help.
Then bland foods such as bread or dry biscuits are recommended before returning to your normal diet.
And if it lasts for longer than forty eight hours call the doctor, because it could be something more serious.
