Tina Baker

Tina is GMTV's resident soap expert

A window cleaner's daughter from Coalville, Leics, Tina trained as a journalist on Northampton's Chronicle and Echo and BBC's Nationwide.

She began her TV career by co-hosting BBC's Daytime Live, and did a variety of presenting and reporting including Comic Relief, Children in Need, ITV's TV Weekly and Pick of the Week. Around that time she was a guest on Blankety Blank and even did a stint in pantomime.

Tina moved on to TV-am where she spent four years doing a variety of jobs before moving onto the Living Channel, presenting a sex and relationship series,  and the dating show Meet Your Mate, along with being the resident newspaper reviewer and TV critic on Living's daily magazine show.

Other jobs included presenting Soaps on the Couch, a psychological analysis of soaps for Radio 4, a TV critic for Talk Radio, Liberty Radio, and London Newstalk Radio.

Tina has also contributed to This Morning, BBC Breakfast News, The Six O'Clock News, News 24, and C4's Right to Reply.

As well as presenting a weekly soap preview on Lorraine Kelly's show, Tina's a regular pundit on C4 and BBC 1 series like Top Ten TV, 100 TV Treats, When Shoulder Pads Ruled The World, Sky 1's Soap Stars Behaving Badly, as well as studio debates on Esther, Gloria, and Vanessa. She has also been involved in 2 series of ITV's Soap Secrets, and Coronation Street Special - The Wedding Album.

Tina writes her own column and soap pages for TVTimes, Soaplife magazine, Teletext, and BBC's Pure Soap website, where she hosts a weekly web chat.

Away from hard work, Tina works hard at trying to unravel the mysterious minds of her lovely boyfriend and her four inscrutable cats.
