Kate Garraway joined GMTV in September 2000 as a presenter

Kate Garraway joined GMTV as a main presenter in September 2000. She co-presents GMTV (Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternate Wednesdays 7.00am – 8.35am) with Ben Shephard.

Kate was born on 4th May 1968 in Abingdon, Oxford. She was educated at Fitzharry's School in Abingdon and in 1987 attended Bath University where she gained a BA in English and History.

After her degree Kate's career started at BBC Radio Oxford as a reporter. In 1994 she became an Independent Television News trainee journalist before moving to Central News as a production journalist, reporter and a presenter on their news bulletins.

In 1995, Kate joined 'Meridian Tonight' as their main presenter. After two years at Meridian, she was picked as one of the team of presenters to launch the BBC's 24-hour rolling news channel – 'News 24'.

Kate joined Sky News' breakfast show, 'Sunrise' as their main anchor in July 1998, covering stories such as the Kosovan Crisis, the Paddington Rail Disaster and the Turkish Earthquakes. She has presented Sky's 'Oscar Special' and launched their 48-hour live Millennium coverage.

Kate has also hosted 'Ultimate Psychic Challenge' on Channel 4, and 'Access Hollywood' for Living TV. In 2004 she presented ITV's lunchtime programme 'Too Many Cooks'. In 2006 she joined the judging panel of the BBC`s `The People`s Quiz`. In 2007, Kate appeared in the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing'. In 2008, she presented Channel 4's controversial documentary, 'Other People's Breast Milk'. In 2009 she presented ITV`s `The Biggest Loser`. Kate writes a weekly column in New magazine.

Kate married Derek Draper in September 2005. They have two children - Darcey (born 10th March, 2006) and William (born 28th July, 2009). They currently live in North London.
