Andrea McLean is one of GMTV's weather presenters

Andrea McLean joined GMTV in June l997. Born in Glasgow on October 5th 1969, Andrea spent her childhood in Trinidad and Tobago and returned to England when she was l5.

Andrea studied for her BA Hons in Modern Studies at Coventry and later gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Periodical Journalism.

She started her career as a freelance journalist before joining Central Press Features in May 1994, and was promoted to Production Editor in 1995. In June 1996, Andrea joined The Weather Channel, where she received daily briefings from the Met Office and presented regular nationwide reports. During the same period she also worked as a weather reporter for Talk Radio.

The following year she worked on Channel 5's daily talk show 'Espresso' as one of the programme's panelists. As well as her daily weather reports, Andrea had presented numerous features for GMTV, including a three-part series for a six-week travel feature 'Here Comes The Sun', `The GMTV Café`, child car-safety campaign 'Clunk Click Every Kid', travel series 'Great Escapes' to Spain and South Africa and the search for 'Britain's Best Mum'.

Andrea has also presented GMTV's summer 2003 strand 'GMTV's Interactive Wedding'. Andrea has also worked as a reporter for Carlton Food Network and for Challenge TV.

In May 2003 Andrea co-presented the world's biggest live test of telepathy, the 'National ESP Challenge Live', with Dr David Bull, for Living TV.

In September 2003 she co-hosted 'Loose Lips` on Living TV for two weeks standing in for Melinda Messenger and has also presented 'Our House' for UK Style.

Andrea lives with her partner Steve Toms and son Finlay (born 29 October, 2001) and daughter, Amy, (born 19 November, 2006).
