Gloria De Piero is GMTV's Political Correspondent

Gloria left her home town of Bradford to go to university in Birmingham where she threw herself into student politics. After graduating, she went off to London and did a Masters degree.

She probably spent a bit too much of her teenage years watching programmes about politics and was fascinated by how it worked (or didn’t). She knew then that she wanted to pursue a career in political broadcasting.

Gloria started her journalistic career as a researcher on ITV’s Jonathan Dimbleby programme back in 1997.

She then moved to the BBC where she worked at On the Record, The Politics Show and Radio 4’s Westminster Hour where she produced and reported on the comings and goings in Westminster.

When, in 2003, the opportunity to report politics at GMTV came up, she jumped at the opportunity to talk to millions of people about a subject she felt so passionately about.

When not reporting on the latest news from the House, Gloria can be found annoying her neighbours singing karaoke late into the night.
