Anna Williamson is the presenter of GMTV's programme for children, Toonattik
Anna Williamson started in TV at the tender age of 17 years old.
Her first launch onto the small screen was with Carlton Kids. She quickly moved through the ranks and has presented on Disney Channel, Five's Milkshake & The Core, TWI and for CITV 'Rescue Robots', 'Scary Sleepover' and the main presentation links. She's also a dab hand at Panto and always gets the part of Principal Boy!!
She is now moving into her seventh year in TV (and she's still only 23!), and after a few years cutting her teeth on a mixture of presenting and production, she is thrilled to have joined the Toonattik team for her ultimate role!
Anna is a very lively and chatty person who constantly gets told off for talking too much - her Mum is just the same!
Her rise in TV started out accidentally: ''I was studying for my A levels when I had an opportunity to join a new girlband, Blush.
"I decided to give it a go as it was holiday time and it suddenly took off! I enjoyed my time in the band but felt it wasn't really right for me in the end, I had done a bit of presenting while in the group and a producer called me up and asked if I'd like to do some more - and thus my career was born!
"As a kid I always admired the likes of Phillip Schofield, Andy Crane, Sarah Greene, Emma Forbes and I aspire to their success today, although the market of kids presenters is a lot more saturated now - there's loads of us!
"It's really important in this industry to be determined and never give up. My Dad always told me 'if you want something badly enough, you'll find a way to get it' - he was SO right!
"I wanted this show more than anything, Toonattik really is my ideal job and I can't wait to make some good telly - hopefully it'll be around for years to come!''
